On April 29, 2025, the Institute of Philology and Intercultural Communication at Osh State University successfully hosted a Round Table Discussion for Master’s students under the theme: “How to Write and Publish a Scientific Paper”. The Round Table was organized by Ainisa Akmatova, Associate Professor of the department of English Phonetics and Grammar. The aim was to strengthen young researchers academic writing skills and provide practical guidance on preparing and publishing scholarly articles. The event opened with warm and insightful remarks from institutional leaders, including: Assoc. Prof. Oljobai Shaimkulov, Director of the Institute, Assoc. Prof. Raikan Ysmailova, Vice Director, Assoc. Prof. Khulkharai Abdrakhmanova, Head of the Masters Department. The discussion focused on the IMRAD structure (Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion), led by Masters students who presented clear, well-researched segments of scientific articles. The second session featured presentations of already published papers on themes such as media literacy and digital tools in language learning. A key highlight was the engagement with Prof. Christopher Korten, a distinguished Oxford and Cambridge graduate, who enriched the session with his global insights on ESL publishing. The roundtable concluded with constructive feedback from experienced scientific supervisors who offered valuable recommendations on improving academic writing and navigating the publication process. This event not only enhanced students’ understanding of scholarly communication but also fostered a spirit of academic collaboration and mentorship - essential steps toward building a strong research culture.
